International Youth Day Pens

I’ve been to the White House before. Our class went there on a field trip last august. When we arrived there, there were a lot of kids also doing their field trip. I’ve always wanted to take a look at the White House and see where the President lives. I was disappointed when the guide said we can’t go in the bedroom of the President. Instead they gave us a tour of the whole place.

In the middle of the tour, the guide led us to a big conference room. All the other kids were also there. Me and my friends wondered why we were there, because we could have spent our time doing some more exploring. After a couple of minutes, men in grey suites entered the room. Behind them was a tall man – the President.

He gave us a short story, and then he went to the podium. While he was standing, he told us that that day was International Youth Day. Just after he said that, another woman handed out branded promotional pens. All of them had the White House seal on them. I told myself that I would keep the pen and I would never ever use it.

Apparently, there were junior high school students also in the room. I was a bit jealous of what the woman gave them. They got branded promotional ballpoint pens and branded promotional high tech pens. I was so mad. Can’t they give us that stuff just because we are only in the 5^th grade?

All in all, the day was so much fun. I was so tired in the end, but I haven’t stopped telling my mom all about it.
